After starting out in England in the early 70's with glam band Silverheard, he then moved to LA and signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song Records with his group Detective. After breaking up he then replaced the late Robert Palmer in the band Power Station, fronting the band at the 1985 Live Aid concert.
He's also had a very prolific acting career, best known for playing the recurring role of Murdoc on the television show MacGyver. He's also appeared in the movie To Sir, With Love with Sidney Poitier and in many TV shows including Seinfeld, Alf, Melrose Place, 21 Jump Street, Nip/Tuck, NCIS, Dead Like Me, Frasier, Bones and many more.
The Michael Des Barres Band recently released a critically acclaimed new album titled Carnaby Street. And today, the Marquis joins us for an amazing and soulful discussion about life, art and following your muse.
